ABOUT LINDS

ONE-EYED joke enthusiast, passionate connector

On a mission since having her eye removed due to a rare and incurable cancer diagnosis in the summer of 2022, Linds Brown explores North America inspiring audiences with a simple message:

Time is, indeed, on your side.

As a healthcare executive, birth & postpartum doula, and one-eyed joke enthusiast, Linds charms audiences with rare authenticity and timely charges. Her three vibrant children and supportive husband fill the rest of her time in the most wonderful ways.

A woman with shoulder-length wavy brown hair, wearing a brown sleeveless top and matching pants, is smiling and laughing against a dark brown background. She has tattoos on her left arm.

Why is it that we approach new opportunities with “it’s not the right time,” “I don’t have enough time for that”, or maybe “once down the road once I’ve accomplished x, y, and z I’ll get to that.”

Nothing helps you rethink how you share your time and energy quite like being shown the exit door and my purpose is to shine a light on my “claw machine moment.” A moment that feels like being picked up out of a comfortable reality and dropped into the vast uncertainty of four life-changing words, “you have incurable cancer.” Ocular Melanoma left me with two distinct feelings: overwhelming uncertainty about how much time I had left and the immediate wake up call to treat that time with intentionality and purpose.

The way I perceive time has changed a lot over the years, and I believe that shift in perspective has helped me inspire others to slow down and take time to see how it actually IS on their side by understanding:

  • The best way to measure time is not by the beginnings and endings, but by the magic of the time in between.

  • Reframing our ability to think we know the best timing for our life so that we don’t limit opportunities that will spur growth and change

  • Tempering feelings as data that can help us power through difficult times rather than perceiving them as facts that can stifle us

  • Embracing the truth that everything in our path that has felt like wasted time has prepared us for something greater

My story is not a sob story. It’s a tale of revitalization with renewed purpose and an appreciation for time that I feel honored to share with the world!

“There are a handful of phrases that have impacted me on a soul level -- ones that I pull out of my back pocket that absolutely serve. This is one of them. "Fear is an acronym that stands for 'Forgetting Every Available Resource'."

Fear will no longer override potential joy and my goal is to connect with audiences on a soul level to allow the concept of time to be renewed as something that is indeed, on your side.
